the city yet I can't walk to Westwood blvd without having to avoid homeless drug addicts, my street light went nearly a year before they finally fixed it. My neighbor put in an ADU unit as the city wants people to do waiting months for basic permits and 6 months for permit to actually rent it out... Yes the list goes on and on.
We have some of the greatest natural advantages the world has to offer along with large amounts of wealth yet we squander it.
They come to us literally every election cycle with a tax for this and tax for that a bond measure to raise money for this or that... always for a good cause... I used to vote yes for all of that until we finally said where is all the money going and with NGO/non profit nonsense we have our answer... waste, corruption, huge salaries designed to keep the problems among us so the money keeps flowing to them.
So maybe you have a point... not incompetence as much as corruption. I'll stop feeling this way when we have a governor whose wife isn't part of the non profit/ngo world along with every other politician whose friends and family magically are all part of the NGO/Non profit machine while none of the problems ever get fixed.
