The ones who don't see what's going on are the ones who have been wanting to roll the clock back to Jim Crow and perhaps even the antebellum era.
So a good portion of that 23% is the percentage of Americans who want to revive the old south. The remaining 5 people are the ultra-naive who think that underneath all this brouhaha, American democracy is built on strong foundations and crap like that can never happen here.
