for president other than Harris, what's the point of having a Democratic Party?
Harris is not like Hillary Clinton, by the way, I don't think she has been building a formidable Kamala-machine in the party the last couple of years the way HC did right after she left Obama's cabinet in Obama II. (I also suspect that Obama had an agreement with her before she even joined Obama I that she would be the candidate that he would support after his terms were done, as a price for having her support in 2008 -- short-changing Biden in the process; which was a deal that Biden was certainly not willing to make with Harris). So, my take is, Hillary Clinton's preordination before the primaries started was an aberration not a preview of 2027.
I think there will be a lot of candidates gunning for the nomination in 2028. The country will be ready for another change then, and the party will be going through a massive identity crisis as to what it is supposed to stand for, with each faction launching two or three candidates as an epic struggle for the soul of the party gets started. IOW I'm pretty sure Democrats will have the opposite problem in 2027.
