it was and now claims to not having known about it because he is embarrassed. People do stupid things they later regret. Sometimes they do some really really stupid things that they really really regret. Sometimes that regret becomes extra motivation for people to do the wight thing and take the right position going forward.

The really really stupid thing he did didn't hurt anyone as far as we know. So as long he becomes and remains a true ally, all is forgiven as far as I am concerned.
