The computers are heavily monitored and as soon as you enter an SSN for a case not assigned to you, not only is your manager advised of the breach but so is Inspections (the day of). Employees are not allowed to enter their SSN nor their family nor their neighbors.

Breaking this law allows the taxpayer to not only sue the IRS but also the employee. Most employees consider the job an occupation hence most are working on their Pensions and IRAs. Hence a big jackpot for the injured taxpayer looking for some employee's lifesaving. However, Contractor employees have no such fund so the only resource is Uncle Sam. Was the contractor employee a sacrificial lamb??
