New WSJ Poll: Trump's Job Approval Sinks, Republican Voter Support Waning
A new poll from the Wall Street Journal shows President Donald Trump's job approval on the decline heading into the midterms.
This comes in the wake of a newly proposed $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization fund” promoted by Trump, which has brought a tipping point for Republicans in Congress.
According the poll of 1,500 registered voters, Trump’s job approval sits at 41%, with 57% disapproving, down from 45% approval in January. Notably, the survey also showed that the share of Republicans who say they “strongly approve” of Trump’s job performance had dived from 75% in January to 57% in May.
The poll also found Democrats lead Republicans 48% to 40% in a congressional ballot measuring which party is favored to lead the next Congress.
The poll was conducted from May 7 to May 18.

There are fewer people identifying as Repubs, and the share of those who do who stongly appover of Trump is smaller.
He's stronlgy supported by a smaller piece of a smaller pie.
