I watched a new PBS news program called "Compass Points". During the discussion one of the panelists opined that: "Iran was America's Swiss Crisis".
I looked up that expression on Copilot and here's it's response: "Takeaway: Saying 'Iran was America’s Suez Crisis' means the U.S. confrontation with Iran may represent a historic turning point that exposes the limits of American power, just as the 1956 Suez Crisis exposed the limits of British and French imperial power."
That's a very bold statement, but given Trump's "America First" posture, it can't be dismissed.
