to Ken Paxton as a potential heir to Trump, especially if he manages to win the Senate seat in November.

A similar level of sleaze and shamelessness, cruelty, manipulativeness, abusiveness, criminal instincts ... it all tracks so perfectly. I'm not sure if there's anyone else who can fit into that mold better than Paxton at this point.
