There's a proxy war between two of the biggest A.I. companies, Anthropic and OpenAI. One super PAC, Public First, is allied with Anthropic, while the other, Leading the Future, is aligned with OpenAI.
Flowing from the udders of those cash cows is money, lots of it. The money is being directed to congressional candidates who favor their positions on the degree to which guardrails must be built to channel the development of AI.
Maybe its time to replace "We the People" to "We the Oligarchs" as the opening to the Preamble of the United States Constitution?
