This sounds like a retcon job instead of an actual memory of what happened or even who the clergy class was.

Does this person actually remember a thing called Tudeh? The original life lesson we all learned back in the day that you never ally with religious fanatics even when you share the same immediate goal, and that the enemy of your enemy may still be your enemy?
