the world of politics, no? Whenever we hear such and such president left behind a great economy, it was always some stock market number and maybe some deficit reduction. Inflation is only mentioned when it starts going up, things like people's ability to go to college, own a home, pay their bills, and even have some emergency money on the side never get mentioned. You know, the real economy as felt by ordinary people.

In our punditry, our economy is generally measured by how rich the rich are getting.
