Obviously, this is a Work in Progress. Israel and the US blow up Iran, but others will compensate Iran for the damage done? This proposal seems to be a moving target, so who knows where it will come to rest.
"🧭 Who would fund the $300 billion?
1. Gulf Arab states (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, others)
These countries are the main expected funders, according to multiple reports.
The U.S. has informally asked Gulf states to provide the reconstruction money.
Gulf states are discussing creating a $300 billion investment fund to support Iran’s reconstruction.
Iran’s state-linked media also claims the U.S. and its allies would pay, but this appears to refer to a broader coalition rather than the U.S. alone.
Why the Gulf?
They have both the financial capacity and a strategic interest in stabilizing the region and ensuring secure oil shipping routes.
2. United States and allied countries (as facilitators, not primary funders)
Reports emphasize that the U.S. role is to coordinate, provide political cover, and enable sanctions waivers, not to write a $300 billion check.
The fund is described as an international investment fund the U.S. would help facilitate, not directly finance.
Several outlets note that “the United States and allied countries” were envisioned as contributors, but this refers to pooled international support, not a unilateral U.S. payout.
Important:
The U.S. is explicitly said not to participate directly in the fund, given Trump’s criticism of past U.S. payments to Iran."
