I've argued before that while tRump doesn't care about anyone other than himself, he's got a huge motivation to try and pass power to someone he thinks will be loyal, and that means family.
Any other pretender to the Cult Leader Crown, like the idiots all jockeying for it now, would inherit the tRump sh!tstorm and then blame him, as they try and tame MAGAts.

You don't build a cult and then hand power to an outsider. Of all 5 developmentally disabled tRump kids, don jr is probably the most electable.
