I frequent a climbing gym these days. I'm probably the oldest by 20-30 years, but it's fun. You get to meet a lot of young people.
I introduced a woman from Israel to a new girl in a hijab. She's always covered from head to toe except for her face, hands, and feet. She's a great climber.
Just a few weeks later, I heard them giggling. They were yukking away in a different language I couldn'trecognize. I asked what language it was, and the Israeli woman said, "she speaks Arabic and I speak Hebrew. There are a lot of common words. Lots of funny slang words too."
They told me this week they are taking a trip to Bishop together for outdoor climbing.
