OT: why is he always harrykane? One word? Like hurricane?

And never Kane, while almost everyone else is regularly mentioned with their last name alone. Is it an English speaker's bias against not using last names alone if they're a single syllable? Which is something I believe I would've noticed before... I mean, was it always Donovan Dent and never just Dent? Always Skyy Clark (or Catlyn Clark) and never Clark? Always Declan Rice and never just Rice? If so how did I miss that until now? (Asking as a non-native speaker -- you can't take the linguist out of the boy, after all)

Is it an English vs American thing? Or is it part of being a member or the harrykane cult that you shall always refer to him as harrykane?

Somehow I keep hearing harrykane all the time and it's like fingernails on chalkboard after a while.
