My answer: both. It has impacted different segmenst of the society differently.
Most journalists are doing important work reporting truthfully on current events
Most journalists are pushing their opinions in their reporting
My answer: Corporate journalists are actually more interested in preserving the staus quo through respectability journalism. What they are pushing is not necessarily what they believe in but what they think convention tells them they should push for. Independent journalists are a different ballgane.
Most politicians are honorable public servants trying to do the right thing for the country
Most politicians are corrupt or just looking out for their own interests
My answer: It's not an integrity of the politician issue. It's a system design issue.
It's best for the future of our country to be active in world affairs
We should pay less attention to problems overseas and concentrate on problems here at home
My answer: oooooh boy. When you say being active, what exactly do you have in mind? Because we sure need to be good active, which is better than not being active, but we've also been bad active plenty of times, which is worse than not being active.
I trust experts and research to inform my opinions
I put my faith in the wisdom of ordinary people rather than experts and intellectuals
My answer: I don't trust experts and research financed by the private sector or any agent that approaches a scientific question as a political problem to be solved. The wisdom of common people you can pretty much flush down the toilet.

My answer: How about cutting defense spending and providing a public option on healthcare. Plus, it kinda matters who we're taxing.
