Not to get too deep in the weeds, but Obama (for example) issued DOL regulations doubling the minimum threshold for salary exemptions. This directly benefit middle class. This was, of course, fought by Congress and then litigated by conservatives. The Obama NLRB also removed anti-union guidance on elections and neutrality agreements sought by unions which indirectly helped working and middle class.

And the ACA brough in 10s of millions of uninsured Americans, most of them working class or poor, and provided subsidies and health care.

Those are just a few examples.
