Totally OT: kids these days drop the article

for young people, the expression is "have beef." It used to annoy me, but then I thought "why?" I still use the article, but I dropped it once when talking to my kids. I find "have beef" funny. I don't know why.

Reminiscent of how "the bomb" became "bomb." As in "we had some bomb asz tacos"

The one that still kind of drives me crazy is the metamorphosis from "versus" to "verse." And, for kids "verse" is a verb. i.e., "We verse them next week."
