Especially for the light bulp moments that kept coming.
The downside was in both places I've done this, Ling 101 was placed in the formal sciences list (cporrectly) and some students signed up because they wanted to avoid having to take math and thought this would be an easy out, just to hit the brick wall of having to deal with phonology and morphology problems or sentence diagrams etc, that do require paradigmatic thinking quite a bit and in a format that, unlike math, they are learning the basics of as we're moving along.
Fun times. The best and most satisfying gig I ever had in life. The rest was better paid, but it was also pretty much downhill from there.
