is exactly this. But the 12th amendment says you can't be Vice President if you are not qualified to be President.
And I am certain this was put in to prevent exactly what Trump is trying to do. There is no spin. It's clear as day.
The 12th Amendment says:
“No person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”
