We have been living on stored petroleum. Those stores are running out.
We are also facing issues with refining capacity. Many refineries are running at full capacity, but they cannot do that indefinitely.
The squeeze on oil, refined products, fertilizer, etc are all going to get worse.
Those factors are all going to make things worse throughout the world economy. There are already shortages in the world food supply, and global food prices affect US food prices.
Yes there is pressure on the Iran government, but the continuing war also puts more pressure on the US government.
Who will blink? Who knows?
