Because they've scared the establishment with their success

in the primaries. They are basically terrified ... which in turn emboldens that small group and gives them more credibility.

In reality the DSA is a symptom of a bigger movement happening in the base that the establishment has no answer to. So they have a more symbolic value than political, IMO.
