UCLA's DEI crowd are so clever. After DEI became too odious (for grossly promoting systemic racial-ethnic-gender discrimination), they replaced that terminology with "Inclusive Excellence". So now you will find gobs of official UCLA policy statements (Very Very Important for employees including professors) that speak vaguely about "Inclusive Excellence" but carefully avoid ever making clear what in blazes "Inclusive Excellence" is supposed to mean. But every employee had better know, and woe betide the employee who does not conform.
"I want to be clear that the changes we are announcing today are structural in nature. They will not entail any employee layoffs nor changes in EDI employees’ duties, and there will be no reduction in the overall budget for UCLA’s EDI efforts associated with these shifts." That's a lot of money well WASTED.
