The Gulf war, which was a clear win, the Iraq War, which was a win (it's the nation building afterwards that was the loss), Afghanistan, which started as one thing and turned into something else, and the Iran war, which is also not a war. All Republican actions.
There were some messy coup attempts in between (Venezuela in the 10s I think, Libya?), one off bombing attacks (every wedding in the middle east, before that, Serbia and Kosovo), and proxy wars (ISIS, etc). Mostly wannabe Democrats trying to look the part.
That's a lot of wars. A lot of aggression. Some more justifiable than others, obviously. But the thing is, we've internalized militarism so much as a nation that we don't notice this sh*t any more. It's like every problem in the world is a nail and our military is the hammer.
(I'll never forget how during a discussion on some news channel about the Syrian refugee crisis, either some government person or a journalist talking about how awful it is and how we need to do something about it, and discussing who and where we should bomb. Not a single word about the humanitarian crisis itself that's developing in real time.)
We've totally earned our decline as a world power. Good job Republicans (primarily). You did it! Made us a weak nation whose show of power looks more like an abusive husband throwing a tantrum than an authoritarian father figure bringing down the law.
