Republican Michael Gates is running against Bonta and says Bonta is a criminal who is part of a party of corruption that needs to be voted out.
Michael Gates is from Huntington Beach and briefly worked for the Trump DOJ, for about 10 months. He says he resigned voluntarily to come home be closer to his family, and help the people of California. he was actually fired by Harmeet Dhillon for making derogatory remarks about female coworkers. But the Trump admin intervened and rescinded the SF-52 document that proved he'd been fired and instead accepted his voluntary resignation.
So he's running on his opponent being corrupt but is lying about why he left his federal job, lying about having harassed multiple female co workers, and he's also lying about Bonta.
