When I was at UCLA, (East) Asian students were rare in the student section. Some at the BZ football forum often blamed the decline of football culture at UCLA on the changing demographics of the student body. Did they mean anything racist? Probably not. It was true at least back in my days that Asian students were too focused on academics to fill the student section at football games.
Here come the Indian American kids at UT. Not only do they work hard in the classroom, but they are assimilating hard rooting for their football team with passion. What's more American than that? Good for them! Right? Right?
To racists, it's damned if you do, and damned if you don't. Black people have been trying to tell us that. This Bo French guy is running for office. He's called for deportation of 100 million people. Yeah, "we are only against illegal immigration," my ass. Some Republicans have condemned his tweets, but not Paxton and Abbot.
