CA has fundamentally changed after they saw the cruelty that Pete Wilson wanted to enact.
We'll have the same swing with Trump.
It used to be that we switched administrations on average every 8 years. I'm guessing that we will likely never have another popular president after 4 years given social media without a war.
We may just be in a cycle due to the speed of social media and the ignorance of their consumers that they will always want whoever is in office out after 4.
Obama wasn't in office long before the Dems lost a key senate race in a very blue at the time PA (Rick Santorum). With all of Obama's initial support, he was immediately unpopular within 2 years because he gave people free health care and remove pre-existing conditions, and extended Republican education common core reforms.
I expect Trump will quickly do worse than that and what Pete Wilson proposed.
