I think we have to get over our liberal memes.

We can't tax the rich enough to save social security.
We can't bring in 30+ times the number of those who are social security eligible into the US without other ramifications. Even if they were paid as much as a legal immigrant, they aren't going to be taxed much.

From the data portal

"As of 2019, the median hourly wage for immigrants was $19 in California, compared to $26 for U.S.-born workers—with undocumented immigrants, in particular, having the lowest median wage at $13."

Taxing the rich more would help. Having a legal pathway to citizenship would help. Raising the age someone receives social security would help. Privatizing social security would probably kill it at some point.

Some of these are Dem ideas. Some are GOP ideas but you will never be able to change the basics of 2 people will be paying for one person's living. It can't happen.

Teaching the young the basics of investment would help.

For my part, I do a full day on compound interest sections with my class on SP500, dollar cost averaging, etc because it is impossible for social security to be around in the same when in their lifetime. I think Dems should be honest about this so young people can prepare.
