whether they can expect to own a house in their lifetime while paying for their student loans? Who would you have telling them that if they want to pay off their debt and become home owners, they need to get off of tiktok and work harder in this gig economy while they are also paying high rent in that apartment they are sharing with their friends?
Do you think they will trust a highly vented op ed piece in a respectable journal as the real truth of their every day lives over some person that's their age talking on the tiktok about how they've been paying their student loan for the past 10 years but they now owe more than the debt they started out with because of interest?
Shared experience in real life misery can be a better tutor on where they stand in an economic system than an abstract commentary revealed to them from high above.
