Lieberman was abysmal for a few reasons (endorsing McCain among others) but that is his greatest most enduring legacy of dumbassery. Lowell Weicker was a much better man. Lieberman was recruited by WF Buckley to ratf*ck Weicker in his long-standing effort to purge the Republican Party of basic human decency.
