The problem is not so much as Schumer who understandably wants to get the gig going, but the Democrats in the senate who are not looking to bring in a different leadership that's better suited or what's coming.
The way the democratic leadership seems to act like this was just another election and all will be fine because democracy has solid, sturdy roots in the US is mind-boggling. We spent at least two election cycles talking about how Trump returning to the White House would lead to a major democratic backsliding (adding on top of what's already been going on) and yet, after the election, they all snap right back to "all is well, we're gonna try next time" mode. The same way Garland and Biden snapped right back to "the danger is over" mode.
I understand losing elections, but I don't understand pretending like it's all business as usual. They never seem take this sh*t seriously enough.
We need an actual, viable left wing party in this country. I am hoping that Sanders is cooking up something in his corner, because this Democratic Party establishment bullsh*t is getting too much for me.
