Xitter is so weird

I have had a twitter account for a long time now. I rarely ever post anything, especially not since the first weeks before I began to understand where the platform fit my life. I've been a passive user since then, having a good time keeping myself informed about the world through my carefully curated feed, until Mr. Mush-for-Brains took over and used it as his personal outhouse. But that's not why I'm posting this.

I have always and about 12 followers, all from my earlier days, almost all people who know me in some capacity. Then early this year I started getting additional followers, all profiled of young women in sexy glamor shot poses, none of whom I have any reason to think I know even remotely. And I kept getting them regularly through the year. I've been waiting for some attempt to engage me in some way like those whatsapp groups I get grabbed into that try to sell me crypto (changed my setting since then). Nothing, no attempt to send any spam, no move at all. So my follower numbers went up to about 120 at its peak in November.

Right after the election, I stopped getting those, and the ones I had started going down in numbers. Every now and then I'd get an additional follower (same type of profile) for each 5 that are dropping out. Then earlier this week they started disappearing in bunches. Last week, they dropped to 60 something, and just now I noticed it's down to 32. Almost there. I should get back to normal in a week or so, I hpoe.

So yeah, Xitter is sh*t. One of the greatest examples of utter ensh*ttification if there ever was one (and obviously not for its bot-friendly policies alone).
