thinking people, right? Most people spend some time thinking about some things, but they don't go that deep, but they are not completely dumb and ignorant either. They are aware of some things but not others, and their attention and energies are spent on things that are more immediate in their lives, their work, their families, football, trying to work through their limited budget, etc.
I mean, most people are not political animals and they see the world through a relatively simple and often simplistic filters. That doesn't necessarily make them dumb or ignorant, IMO.
I mean, if I am watching the Lakers play and all I can tell is that I don't like what I see but I have neither the desire, the interest, or the passion to really understand what the problem is but all I can tell is that maybe they need a new coach, does that make me dumb and ignorant? I know that's what hardcore fans would call me immediately, because I mean ... sports fans, right? But really ... I would just be a regular guy having an opinion on things that I am aware of but don't have the sophistication to claim any expertise on. Not dumb. But likely educable and open to learning. Which is not the way I think of dumb.
