At a certain threshold (85%) you have to make an offer for the whole shebang, but you get board control well before that.

But MSNBC is not a stand-alone. Musk would be forced to take a whole basket of struggling channels to get hold of MSNBC.

There's a reason Comcast wants to be relieved of these assets.
