Lasorda called Orel "bulldog," and I think Billingsley has the same quality.
Yesterday, he didn't have his best stuff. He gave up a two out bases loaded single to the opposing pitcher, and watched his No. 3, 4, and 5 hitters come up with bases loaded and no one out and couldn't drive one run in. But he just turned in around, retiring ten in a row, and drove in a run in the bargain. He was finally rewarded when Blake hit that homer. But he could very easily have just called it a day much earlier.
Speaking of Blake, the three most productive Dodger hitters right now are Pierre, Hudson, and Blake. Who woulda thunk? But don't worry, this team is so deep, I am sure Martin and Kemp will have their days, and Ethier will come back.
