UCLA alumnus Rai Benjamin won the 400 meter hurdles in the fastest time of the year - fifth fastest time ever run - at the USA Olympic Team Track and Field Trials. Benjamin ran 46.48 for the event. He won a gold at the Tokyo Olympics as a member of the 4x400 relay team and a silver medal for placing second in the 400 meters.
Justin Stafford also made the Olympic team, finishing third in the hammer throw with a mark of 77.07 meters.
