Bruins improved their overall performance, taking down Nebraska 197.325 to 195.250. Jordan Chiles won the All Around, scoring 39.675. Bruins' outstanding freshman, Sumanasekara scored 39.400.
Chiles uncharacteristically registered her lowest score on Floor Ex, very surprising for a UCLA lead gymnast, scoring 9.8. She achieved a 10.0 on vault and a 9.975 on Balance Beam plus a 9.9 on Uneven Bars.
As a team the Bruins scored 49.250 on Vault, 49.625 on Beam (featuring two 9.975 scores - meaning one judge scored the routine a 10.0 and the other gave it a 9.95 - Chiles and Alipio, 49.325 on Uneven Bars and 49.125 on Floor.
That Floor score is startling at least to me as FX is UCLA's traditional signature event and no UCLA gymnast scored above 9.875 (three were given that score). Nebraska scored even lower so I wonder if the judges on that event were really tough scoring.
