I have been a Bruin since 1959, which means I'm old, and prone
to make mistakes - and sometimes overreact when something
truly remarkable occurs, as it did yesterday when UCLA softball
rallied to beat South Carolina at South Carolina.
Two outs in the seventh inning of a game that would send SC
to the World Series if they won. Instead Woolery cranked one.
I was so excited that I split an infinitive.
Spoiling a spoller alert on a "basketball" board? I forgive it
in a heartbeat.
Things show up here all the time that don't interest me: Maryland's
starting line-up in November?
I dropped out of AA because there were "AA Nazis" who were
obsessed with the wording in the original Big Book. Old Timers
would bust newcomers, if they said one word that didn't "belong."
Many of these newcomers were just out of rehab - or were trying
desperately to sober up. The last thing they needed was a
scolding.
Whenever something truly wonderful happens that involves a
UCLA team or player, I don't care where it's posted.
I was at the grocery store this morning, wearing a UCLA sweatshirt.
A cute high school girl said, "Go Bruins."
