IMO Cronin and UCLA would benefit from a more expansive approach to his basketball schemes on both sides of the ball. I think his defensive approach is good, but when dealing with essential personnel who may not be a good fit defensively, like Mara, Cronin would, IMO, be better off being more flexible.
To attract players who flourish in an open court kind of game he needs, IMO, to open up his approach to offensive attacks. Like others have said, we'll see how he adjusts to Dent and whether he can utilize his skills to the upmost. If he can that will go a long way toward adjusting his offensive philosophy. If he can then maybe that will allow players who like to play a more open game to consider UCLA in the future.
