It helps when our coach is an effective ambassador for UCLA basketball. Yes, the NIL era has dramatically changed things, but we’re not going to attract very much elite talent with Mick Cronin as the face of the program. He’s never been a good communicator, he’s peevish and inarticulate, and he has never proven that he can recruit very well (at any of his jobs). And this is the guy out there trying to sell UCLA hoops. We can do better.
