Last year, the play at the five was good enough for a fourth-place finish, and let’s face it, that wasn’t the biggest weakness of that team. Between Booker and Jamerson, I think we can expect more than what Kyle III and Mara gave us, which was basically a few great moments from Aday.
Like you mentioned in another post, we shouldn’t be surprised to see Tyler spend a lot of time there. Personally, I think our best lineup,at least against most teams, will be Tyler, Eric, Jamar, Sky, and Donovan. All five of those guys are very good players. I don’t expect Eric and Jamar to share the floor too often, but I do think those are our five best players.
I was worried about replacing what Kobe brought to the team last year, but I think Jamar, while not the defender Kobe was, might be just as good overall. He does a lot of things Kobe couldn’t, and he’s scrappy enough that he’s not a defensive liability.
Who knows, but it’s fun to speculate. One thing’s for sure, I left the UCI game feeling really optimistic. I can’t say the same after walking out of the CSLA game last year.
