… to build on.
Booker played 31 minutes! And his numbers were strong across the board. 15 points (including 4-4 from the charity stripe which is important if he’s going to be “the guy in the middle”). 5 rebounds. 1 assist and ZERO turnovers. And most importantly, 5 blocks. Player of the game.
Dailey had a strong first game out over 26 minutes. 10 efficient points. 4 rebounds. 2 assists to 1 TO. And a steal. Great to see. We will need him.
While Perry hasn’t found his long range shot yet (0-4 from the arc), he probably had the best game of his short Bruin career, shooting 45 from inside the arc, including 2 great drives to the hoop. And he contributed 3 assists to ZERO turnovers, a steal, and 4 rebounds. Great to see him stepping it up (and having fun).
Combined, Bilodeau, Dent, and Clark didn’t have their best games, but if this is what they’re going to do when they are down, I’m optimistic about this team’s future. Between them, 94 minutes, 10-22 shooting (only 2-8 from long range, which will get better), 10-15 from the line (getting there at least), 10 rebounds, 5 assists but 7 turnovers, and 5 steals.
Jamerson will do well to spell Booker well enough to let the starter go 30+. Nothing outstanding, and 2 TO’s, but 4 rebounds in 9 minutes. That’s what he’s there for, and he appears to give it his all. I think (hope) he’ll get better.
Brown in his first role off the bench (with Dailey back) regressed a little. He did bring down 5 rebounds in only 12 minutes, but was 0-3 from the arc. This is bound to be just a blip, from what I have seen of him so far.
Williams looks to me like the odd-man-out, and just isn’t at the level of the rest of the team, at least yet. Unless he steps it up, the above should be our 8 man rotation.
It’s still early.
