X Booker reminds me of Sam Perkins. Sweet shooting stroke. He is rail-thin, though. Not sure he will be able to bang if Coach asks him to.
Donovan Dent reminds me a lot of Baron Davis. Just not as explosive and powerful as Baron. An "almost-Baron" but under control. Donovan is more finesse, although he can take the bump and still make the basket when driving to the basket. He is also obviously more polished and mature than Baron was when B was at UCLA. But Donovan has moxie, just like Baron. He knows exactly what to do with the ball. Very confident. Which makes me think how good Baron would have been if he had stayed beyond his sophomore year.
I like the tall front line of Booker, EDJ, and Bilodeau. 6-11, 6-8, and 6-9, too. Aday Mara who? I remember last year when, at times, we only had Bilodeau as the only tall guy out there. It was so stressful. But this year, we have a long and formidable front court. And Booker is whacking balls left and right! 5 blocks vs Pepperdine. Quick question: in the box score under blocks, what does BA stand for? Block Against? So, Booker got blocked once?
I like what I am seeing in Trent Perry. He is slowly and hopefully surely getting into a groove for this season. I hope he does well! It would be nice if he could spot Donovan or Skyy Clark some in the backcourt.
I like what I see in Jamar Brown. Smooth stroker. Nice pick up. Never heard of Kansas City until this season.
And Skyy Clark is his usual solid and dependable self. Clark and Dent are a sweet backcourt.
Can’t wait to see how this team matches up against Arizona on November 14!
