You summed it up nicely. We have had basically a new team on the court…IMO. I feel like there are several things at play. One, we have five or six players who are getting to know each others games…that will take some time, maybe through December. Two, CMC is sorting out several positions … everyone knows the 5 is a question but Booker is looking better, I hope he can sustain it. Three, I think the coach is playing a little for next season right now while he can. In particular his extensive usage of Trent Perry. If TP stays he will be the guard leader next season so I expect him see a ton of minutes right now.
I am impressed with several things at this point. Dent appears to be the real deal. I get the feeling he could take a game over just about any time he wants to do it. Once he establishes his leadership, I think things will flow much better. Also, I like the way Booker is progressing. I listened to his post game and think what he is being asked to do is sinking in….I also feel like he may have an axe or two to grind in the Big which may provide some unique motivation.
I agree that Arizona will be a big test and will be looking to see if Dent is up to leading this team.
