but his defense to me is deeply concerning. whenever I've watched the team play, live or in clips, I am struck by the number of times he just gets flat out beaten on defense. Guys flying by him. Of course, no doubt my mind sees those things and retains them, giving them precedence in recall over those moments in which he contributes successful plays on offense. (Much like, though I am a big fan of Angela Dugalic on the women's team and she was the second most successful player in last night's win over #6 Oklahoma, doing a bit of everything for her team, I still relivei n my mind two soft floaty passes made without regard for opponents poised to intercept - one an out of bounds pass and both resulting in easy pickoffs for the Sooners.)

But it is mostly Perry's defense that make me fully agree with ej's observations about him and the thought that, if he is to develop to an effective and reliable high D1 player, I don't expect it to occur this season.
