The betting lines are usually similar to the predicted scores based on team metrics. If we're a 30 point favorite and win by six, it is very meaningful. West Georgia lost to Nebraska by 33, Pepperdine beat Life Pacific, an NAIA school, by only eight, and Eastern Washington just lost to Seattle by 27.
The 17 previous blowouts of these type of teams is not an insignificant sample. Something isn't right and not just by the scores but by the eye test as the thread below indicates.
