interesting comment, mikeo. I would suggestion that much of the time so far the sum has seemed to directly equate to the individual pieces. Like a pickup game with every player showing off in an effort to impress the onlookers.
Plus I like your focus on attitude but would suggest that the focus on offense may so far have detracted from a necessary focus on defense.
That "take no prisoners" attitude needs to drive the defense. The players need to seem to dominate opponents on defense by seeking to collapse a team wide net over the opponents' offensive efforts. It's looking more like a collection of individual players each of whom is thinking about things and trying to figure out what his role is and how to implement it rather than a team whose members' efforts are 100% and mesh together as in Mick's best defensive teams.
So far anyway. That part can improve but the ultimate question is whether or not these individual pieces have what it takes to play high level defense even as they master their roles and play as hard as they can
