Friend sent a highlight reel of all Gabriela's shots in that game. It was terrific and fun to watch. It was fun to see, on one of the sickouts to Gabriela in the corner, Lauren moves out a bit and screens her opponent from getting out to try to impact the shot.
Agree with you - love the way the ball is moving. Lauren is having to adjust her game, to reset her moves now. That's really good preparation for her for when she gets to the WNBA. Like that, this UCLA team is full of other pros, players who can really score and whose team defense is very high level also. She doesn't have to do it herself any more.
I believe they have to keep her in the game as a very high threat, continue to force teams to keep looking in first. That gives all the perimeter and mid-range shooters more space and a beat more time to gain balance and shoot the ball. But it has to happen at a different pace now, as part of this movement.
