No, I sure as hell didn't know this catastrophe would occur.
But, I do know that our season, with our Ken Pom Colossus O, was not going to keep playing D duds like Cal Poly, Riverside & the ilk on the other end.
Ken Pom's metrics were not looking at the OTHER 47' of the court..........................and I WAS!, consistently!
Give Iowa credit for a solid D effort, fully exposing CMC's vanilla and highly predictable O. Aside from comparability of O game schemes, Iowa gets full credit for a superior floor game, boarding and lesser TOs.
And, of course, as to those comparative game schemes on O in their respective halfcourt sets, it's a Tale of Two Cities..........which anyone can judge by looking at the quality of Iowa's open shots and movement without the ball on O compared to CMC's predictable outside weaves and his fingers' crossed ISO seams.
Unfortunately, Bilo & Skyy haven't been able to shoot us back in the game. And, my view remains the same; CMC doesn't have the O creativity to keep us from games like this. We certainly are not a team lacking talent, but there are too many matchups like this that are going to preclude us from advancing too far in the regular season and playoffs.
GO BRUINS!
