I may see it differently because the names have changed, but when you really look at the last 20 years, aside from Baylor winning once and Virginia winning once, the national championship has basically been dominated by the same small group of programs: UConn, Villanova, Duke, North Carolina, Florida, and Kansas.
What felt different to me last season was that there were at least some newer faces in the mix that looked like they had a legitimate shot to make a run and compete for a title.
